Position Description
Now serving New York City for 25 years, City Harvest is the world’s first and New York’s only food rescue organization, dedicated to feeding the city’s hungry men, women and children. Using a fleet of 16 trucks and volunteers on foot, City Harvest collects excess food from all segments of the food industry and delivers it free of charge to community programs in all five boroughs. City Harvest also partners with other non-profits, businesses, farmers, and target communities in developing and running programs to increase access to nutritious food for low income New Yorkers that will benefit them long into the future. City Harvest’s programs provide individuals and families with nutrition information and cooking skills and supports community programs so that they can do their vital work serving meals to people in need. City Harvest’s food resources and programs currently assist an estimated 260,000 New Yorkers each week.
The Special Events Assistant will support the Director of Special Events in all aspects of planning, organizing, developing and executing City Harvest’s events. This position will report to the Associate Director of Special Events, but will also provide administrative support to the Special Events Manager.
Key Responsibilities:
•Provide support for all fundraising events including the Practical Magic Ball, Bid Against Hunger, On Your Plate, Summer in the City and others
•Process and input gifts into Raisers Edge database system
•Assist with, coordinate and process acknowledgement letters and event mailings
•Assist and coordinate event deliveries and event day set-up
•Reconcile income and expenses
•Assist in sponsorship and in-kind donations (including auction and gift bag) research and solicitation
•Support post-event activities including creating and mailing thank you letters
•Perform administrative duties including data entry, faxing, filing, copying
•Special projects and other responsibilities as assigned
Requirements:
•Bachelor’s degree
•1-2 years experience preferred
•Microsoft Office, Word, Excel, Outlook, Power Point, and Raiser’s Edge a plus
•Excellent oral, written and communication skills; strong organizational skills and attention to detail; the ability to work independently and accurately in a fast-paced, team-environment; strong interpersonal skills; ability to multi-task, manage time effectively and establish priorities; creative; able to follow-though and meet deadlines effectively and efficiently.

We are seeking a Maintenance Technician / Maintenance Tech for our Ashville, NY location.
Reporting to the Manager of Maintenance and Engineering - The successful candidate will have demonstrated ability to troubleshoot, repair and maintain equipment including complex electrical, electronics, pneumatic, hydraulics, computerized and mechanical equipment to OEM specifications.
Responsibilities will include but are not limited to:
Assisting in the design of prototype equipment and processes
Input information into Maintenance CMMS system
Program PLC’s to achieve needed results
Develop PM’s to resolve repetitive core issues of equipment
Overhaul assemblies, subassemblies, and equipment as needed
Repair and maintain all plant support systems including water, compressed air, hydraulics, computer interface, security, and refrigeration
Accomplish building and other facility repairs
Install equipment as needed
Train new technicians and operators in the operation of core equipment
Requirements
Minimum Requirements for the MAINTENANCE TECHNICIAN / MAINTENANCE TECH:
Need at least a 2 year degree and experience in Electronics.
Working knowledge of all applicable regulations
Working knowledge of Microsoft Office and CMMS software - Epac knowledge a plus
Full set of hand tools to fulfill everyday tasks
Experience with electronics troubleshooting is an essential skill.
