There is a certain degree of etiquette and tradition attached to baby showers, but the mother to be doesn’t have to follow too many rules! It’s all about you and your baby –a happy day to remember with your friends! Of course you have to show appreciation for every gift, even if it’s the tenth sailor suit! And even if it’s not really your “thing”, you must play along graciously if there are any of those games usually played at baby showers. But don’t forget the thank you notes. The only rule that you absolutely cannot ignore is the writing of thank you notes! Guests at baby showers not only buy presents that reduce the financial burden on parents to be. They also take the trouble to come to the party and spend time with you. So don’t offend them by not sending out thank you notes. Pretty little notes that mention the gifts received at baby showers are always most appreciated. “Dear Mary, I would like to thank you forthe adorable little sailor suit. Johnny is going to look so cute when he wears it!” When the baby is there you may have too much to do, so don’t leave it too late!
