Despite what people may think or hear, the proper planning and execution of a successful wedding event does take some amount of doing. The actual wedding ceremony is only a portion of the overall picture. If you are about to, or have plans in the future to tie the knot, then you will need to know about the traditions that go along with a wedding. One of these is what goes by the name of a wedding rehearsal dinner. The wedding rehearsal dinner is traditionally the responsibility of the parents of the groom to organize and fund. The parents on the bride’s side, however, have been known to get involved at times.
The wedding rehearsal dinner, is really a dinner that is usually held on the night prior to the wedding, and after the final wedding rehearsals have taken place. The persons likely to be present at a wedding rehearsal dinner include the marrying couple, members of the bridal party and parents of the bride and groom. Invitations may also be extended to the person who will be officiating at the wedding, the significant others of the bridal party members, out of town guests, close extended family members, and anyone felt deserving of special thanks by the couple.
The format of the wedding rehearsal dinner can be either formal or informal and does not have to take a long time considering that everyone needs their rest for the big day tomorrow. The purpose of it is to get those parties integral to the event together to say thanks to them for the role they are playing in the wedding. It gives the parties an opportunity to relax a bit and get to know each other some more.
