After a flawless victory on the turntables a close friend to Michael Dlugos told him “you had this place on fire tonight”. Having knowledge in mythology, his friend instantly started calling him “Loki” (who is the god of fire & mischief). His friend had no idea what he really was creating at the time, the name was the perfect moniker for Michael, mischief is his middle name on the turntables, playing an array of music from The Beatles to Jay-Z; back around to David Guetta to Bob Marley. “I like to keep the dance floor on their toes (no pun intended), not just because songs have the same beats per minute do I play them together, I always strive for a feeling in each one of my sets. I want people to feel sexy, then young, then stress free, excited ALL while I am on the turntables.” as he laughs to himself.
By 21 Loki was a professional DJ and Producer, creating his own edits and remixes to songs, in addition to creating his own original works as well. He was has taught himself how to use software such as Pro Tools, Cubase, Logic, Abelton, Reason, the list goes on. Being pro active is his mantra and has helped him obtain worldwide recognition of his production; in addition to being a mix show DJ on Long Island’s Party station “Party FM”. Weather he is listening to Jason Mraz, Al Green or U2 Loki is always looking for a new idea to improve himself as a DJ/Producer and person; because at the end of his career he wants to say “I have given this my all”. “When people listen to my music, hear me DJ, see or hear anything that has my name attached, I want them to say ‘wow this is awesome’” says Loki.
